Starring Samantha Mathis ("Little Women") (2006/Drama) New York City journalist Bettina Lloyd (Samantha Mathis) has successfully avoided visiting her small hometown of Van Buren, Ohio for 10 years since she left to make a name for herself in the big city. But when her boss hears news of a comatose man, Paolo, healing people from his home, Bettina is sent back to investigate. Although Bettina and Paolo were romantically involved growing up, she clings to her skepticism and anger at the Church as she tries to prove that her family and neighbors are being conned into believing in miracles. Ultimately, her professionalism and objectivity open her up to the possibility of miracles, so that her own personal healing, from an emotional wound inflicted on her many years ago, can begin.
