A compelling documentary that examines the case of Susan Greenberg, who shot and killed her boyfriend after living in constant fear of his abuse and beatings.

ABUSED is about the second chance Susan Greenberg gets after pleading guilty to first degree murder. Originally the 19-year-old was afraid to tell the police that she had been a battered woman. She thought they would use it as evidence against her as a motive for the killing. Susan has been in prison for 18 years until two business lawyers who have never tried a criminal case, team up with a Public Defender to take advantage of a new California law to re-introduce the 18 year old murder case. The momentum of the hearing goes back and forth as the district attorney tires to keep her in prison for life. At the end of the three week hearing, the judge issues the surprise verdict.
