    Wild Bill was with the 506th Airborne Division who lit up the skies over Normandy at the close of WWII. Bill is in his late 80's and is as feisty as ever residing in South Philadelphia. Bill Guarnere along with his Band Of Brothers was depicted in the Hollywood movie Band of Brothers.

    This photo represents a strategic moment in American WWII history and memorializes the American heroes who participated in the events leading up the Normandy D-Day invasion. Affectionately nicknamed Wild Bill because of his fierce determination to defeat the enemies of America. Wild Bill’s momentous role in and around D-Day was dramatized in the movie Band of Brothers and showcased him as one of the original members of the 101st Airborne Division. The 506th Airborne Division nicknamed "The Screaming Eagles" were young paratroopers whose regiment was known as Easy Company; the legendary division immortalized in the book Band of Brothers by historian Steven Ambrose.
