My father was Chief Radioman (chief petty officer) on the USS Enterprise during World War II. Though he didn't spend his entire career on CV-6 he does have many many memories including coming into Pearl after the Japanese attack. My father is 89 years old so I'm sending this series to him for his birthday....Couldn't think of a better gift! What do I buy a man who is 89? LOL

I am an avid WWII history buff and I received Battle 360 in conjunction with both seasons of Dog Fight. This is an excellent telling of the exploits of the USS Enterprise. The graphics and battle scenes are first rate and the comments from those who flew from her decks or protected her from attacks are very informative. I have quite an extensive WWII collection of DVDs and videos, but none of them made me aware of just how involved and instrumental this ship was in the success of our forces in the Pacific. My one criticism is that the History Channel should edit out what are obvious the repeat of scene explanations that were put in following commercials. They distract from the enjoyment of the action and are unnecessary. Overall, I give this collection 5 stars.

Battle 360 will keep you on the edge of your seat...excellent graphics, knowledgable interviews and historically accurate animation make this series a must have for anyone interested in WW2, naval warfare, or true heroism. The computer animation is breathtaking and the interviews with actual crew members left me speechless. I can't say enough good things about the show.

Battle 360 is the best post war show I have ever seen the graphics are amazing and the story gets you totally involved.I have watched it over and over on television and I am thrilled to be able to add it my collection . I personally am very interersted in wwll and this series is the absolute best at telling its part in history. Once you watch it I 'm sure you will feel as I do and that Battle 360 will become one of your favorites..Dont miss out on this part of our great American history. If you love battleships as I do then I am sure you will not be disappointed in Battle360.

For content, this series has it all. This ten-episode epic on the history of the USS Enterprise (CV-6) during WWII is an insightful, all-encompassing look at one significant thread of the Pacific campaign. Like the Forrest Gump character, the Big E seems to be at nearly every famous and significant moment in this bloody conflict.

As for the production, it is a mixed bag. The production in all areas is extremely similar to the History Channel's "Dogfights". CGI is mixed liberally with historical footage. If you are not a fan of using copious amounts of CGI to tell a story, this may not be for you.

The sound production is very poor. An over-emphasis on sound effects constantly drowns out the dialog. This is especially offensive when it steps over the soft spoken veterans whose tales are so inspiring.

All in all, a worthy tribute to the gallant E and her heroic crews. I thank you for your service. May God Bless each and every one of you.

Sadly, few people today know just how important the Pacific Campaign was for the U.S. during WWII. We were literally fighting for our very existence as a nation. Had we been defeated, little could have saved us from an all out invasion of the American homeland by the Japanese Imperial Navy. We owe our very existence and freedom to those who fought for it and this remarkable series from the History Channel tells the story of every major battle the USS Enterprise engaged in. It also tells the tales of the induvidual sailors, airmen, and marines who so bravely fought for and defended their country against possible annihilation. This series is perfect for the avid history buff or anyone who simply wants to learn more about the events that made this great nation what it is today.

Just as with the Dogfights series did with aircraft, this captures the historic moments in the life of one of the greatest ships in the US Navy. As a Navy veteran, I can relate to some of the shipboard scenes. The series shows all aspects of shipboard life with the ultimate being combat at sea.
I can't recommend this series highly enough to those who have served or to any American who appreciates the sacrifice made by the sailors of the US Navy during World War 2.

This series provided me with a remarkable, larger perspective of what my father migh have experienced as a bugler aboard the USS Enterprise from 1943-45. Battle 360 took me to a whole new level of understanding of how important the Big E was to the War in the Pacific. In ten episodes Battle 360 swiftly covers the ship's major battles (and how she fit in to the larger strategic scheme), using a mix of actual footage with CGI, to bring you up close to the action in the air, aboard the ship and underwater. Interviews with Big E seaman who experienced battle firsthand and current-day commentary (albeit, occasionally cheesy) round out the human story. I'm sure one could nitpick about the series (see blog). Those of us whose father's served aboard the Big E are thrilled to have something tangible to share with our children and future generations, and that a piece of World War II history will not be forgotten, even as its last remaining survivors quickly fade away.

The Enterprise CV-6 was the most successful ship in any Navy during WWII, and was the lone US carrier against the Japanese for a time.

I thought the series on the USS Enterprise was excellent. I was especially moved by the video, because my dad served on the ship throughout the war in the Pacific. When I have asked him about where all they sailed in the Pacific, he could not tell me. He said that information was only available on a "need to know" basis. So, this series was able to reveal to me much of the information that my dad never knew. Thank you for this production. Generations of my family will enjoy this most interesting of history lessons!
