This really needs to be a series, not a stand alone show. Hey history channel, if I am taking time to write a review, then you should probably make this into a series. Great job, I liked the Survival Escape Resistance and Evasion (SERE) techniques presented on the show. However, I think resources would be a lot more scarce than depicted.

When the show opened with our expert knocking in a locked door with his SHOULDER, I and the other retired cops watching started laughing. Ok to try that if you're wearing body armor, but why risk breaking your shoulder, your arm, rotater cuff, etc.A disabling injury is no way to start your survival. KICK that door in. Your legs are much stronger than a body slam, which is hardly practical to women. And don't check out the manhole cover,(shine a flashlight, yell down, just rip off the top and jump in. Oh and stick a bar of soap in your pocket, almost as important as ammunition in this scenario.

Interesting about the making of fuel, how DC battery power is important and the beginner basics for self-survival. Ideas for obtaining gas and electricity good too.

Would like to see more advanced detail in all areas.

I love when people want to be informative and help out their fellow man. Rudy definitely fits as informative and as a good host. However, here are the only problems that I have with the show:
1. He siphons diesel fuel with a bicycle pump, then (either chronologically or anachronistically) he uses it to siphon drinking water.
I love the taste of diesel in the morning. Taste like a mistake.
2. After emphasizing keeping a low profile to avoid people, he then broadcast over the CB emergency channel his travel plans and left it broadcasting on the frequency using a tape recorder. This not only compromised his security, it also steps on any other broadcasts on that channel.
I'm done nit-picking at the show. Other than those two flaws, the show was great.
All in all, History Channel should make the series - at least for two seasons.

I missed the first ten minutes of this show the first time I saw it. Managed to find a secondary air date and record it. WHEN ARE THE NEXT EPISODES AIRING! I have told everyone I know to watch this show! I am ordering a copy of the DVD from the HISTORY store to show my support for this show.

This is one of those shows that you dont need an apocalypse to actually use the knowledge. If you live in California an earthquake would be all you need to find yourself glad to know this stuff. They need to definately make this a series. RUDY IS AWESOME!

More important that even food and water is a dependable firearm, along with a healthy supply of ammunition. What good is food and water if you are not alive to enjoy it!!!! Your personal protection is paramount and must always come first!!!

As a director of a disaster response agency that included outreaching to 9/11, deploying base camps, from Charlie to Katrina, and deploying strike teams to Honduras after hurricane Mitch, and now deploying a mobile medical unit to Haiti, I found this program to have a good balance of theology, and practical information that I will add to my personal and agency preparedness. I look foward to the series.

I found the info interesting and some of it very useful. I hadn't thought of a few of the topics he brought up. Of course, there can always be more than one way to approach a situation. Would have enjoyed hearing other alternatives in further segments. Hope it runs again. Shame it aired in the twilight hours.

Funny to see someone try to survive Detroit… lol I am sorry but I was lmfao because I work and drive past the places they filmed in. Maybe next time or next film you can have him living over by the train station. It another great Building that has not been maintain in 30 + years, and from what I here there are people already surviving with out power, water, money, food, jobs, or anything else. Welcome to Detroit.

I LOVED this show! The only fault I found was in the cinematography. The lighting was often too dark to catch the detail of our lessons. And the camera man was not always "one" with Rudy, thus not catching the close-up or wide-angle view at the proper time in order to get across the essence of what Rudy was trying to teach. Where did the wires come from for hot-wiring?

Rudy Reyes gives you the tools you will need to stay alive where you will find yourself after society collapses. If you can plan to be on a mountain in the Rockies when the fall comes, and food, shelter, and water are your only concerns ..... you will be one of the lucky ones. If you are one of the 300 million Americans who live in an urban or suburban area .... you will have a completely different set of concerns. You need what Rudy Reyes is teaching in this show.

well I saw an eposodp on the history channel and it was very well put together he give us american's what to do in caseof a major destorager it was awsome to see history channel need to put more of this on TV
