Considered the pinnacle of the "spaghetti western," this epic production features Clint Eastwood as The Man With No Name in a race for Confederate gold against Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach while the violent Civil War rages around them. The three gunslingers each have a piece of the puzzle as to where the gold is located, but can they trust each other enough to get to the treasure? Featuring one of the most iconic film scores of all time from Ennio Morricone, this thrilling yarn of greed in the old west is expertly directed by the master of the genre, Sergio Leone.

Expert Review:
Sergio Leone’s direction, Ennio Morricone’s wah-wah theme, and the darkly comedic takes on the amoral characters by Eastwood, Van Cleef, and Wallach set the groove for spaghetti westerns for all time—upending beloved western features such as the good hero, the bad villain, and the purity of the western land. Just the dizzying showdown is worth the price of admission, but the twisted story of greed, the Civil War backdrop, and Eastwood’s epic squint can be appreciated time and again.
