Expert Review:
Pandora’s Box is a masterful and controversial silent melodrama starring Louise Brooks as Lulu, a seductive but amoral showgirl whose sexual prowess has a devastating effect on the men she encounters. It’s no wonder – Lulu’s fashions are designed by Jean Patou and they are tantalizingly sexy. Without sound or color, Pabst creates an artful and daring picture for this time. Following the release of the film, Brooks made the iconic bobbed haircut and flapper girl style synonymous with the 1920s. By Sarah Chun of Shop The Shows
