Film noir meets sci-fi, in director Alex Proyas' cult classic, "Dark City" (1998), in which Rufus Sewell wakes up in an icy bathtub to discover a murdered woman's body. In true noir form, he has no memory of the preceding night and to make matters worse, he's now being pursued by a police detective who is convinced that he's the killer. Can he prove that the murder is the work of extraterrestrials who are experimenting on the human memory? This director's cut version features enhanced picture and sound, three different commentary tracks and never-before-seen footage. Co-starring Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly, and William Hurt.

Expert Review:
A heady and masterfully-constructed work by master director Alex Proyas, this is one of the all-time best films in the genre, or any genre. Rich and powerful in a way few films dare to dream of managing, and topped off with brilliant performances by Rufus Sewell and Kiefer Sutherland. So good that Roger Ebert provided a commentary track.
