The extraordinary popularity of Anne Rice’s series of novels led to this romantic and tragic feature film that captures all the beauty and heartbreak of a vampire with a soul. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are captivating as newborn vampire and his ancient vampire father/lover. It is fair to say that this was Kirsten Dunst’s breakout role, as the sweet and devilish vampire child Claudia. Director Neil Jordan masterfully brings this story to life, capturing in stunning detail the essence of each period.

Expert Review:
Few writers have had such a lasting impact in the vampire mythos as Anne Rice. Her debut novel Interview with the Vampire was adapted into a film in 1994 to much critical acclaim and financial success. The premise of the film is quite simple: a centuries-old vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac is interviewed by reporter Daniel Molloy and recounts his life and experiences as a vampire.
