On December 9, 1965, something fell from the skies near the sleepy hamlet of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. Residents claimed to have seen an acorn-shaped metal object with strange hieroglyphic writing on its side half buried in the forest floor. Experts assumed that the UFO was actually a meteorite, or perhaps a failed Soviet probe. Then, in late December of 2003, the government released nearly 3,000 pages of information about Kecksburg, prompting a new round of debates.
