The story of Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, the immortal Dutch painter who enjoyed financial success as an artist, teacher, and art dealer, but whose personal life was filled with sorrow.

Rembrandt's wife died at age 30, and only one of his four children survived, but then only to age 27. His housekeeper eventually became his common-law wife and the model for many of his works. His masterpieces include The Jewish Bride, The Syndics of the Cloth Guild, Portrait of Nicolaes Ruts, The Blinding of Samson, Bathsheba at Her Bath, and Jacob Blessing the Sons of Joseph.
