First he's working the case of Darlene, who's been busted for prostitution again and has completely exhausted her family's good will. They want her to go to jail and quit causing them grief. Then, instead of blowing out candles and wearing a funny hat on his birthday, Dog pursues Fred, who's facing some heavy firearms charges. These ones always have to be handled delicately, since gun lovers tend to like to put their collections to use.
