The video is quite interesting, but already shows its age as well as several noteworthy flaws. First, it shows US Stealth fighters with external weapons mounted, but the narrarator still saying that the fighters are in a stealth configuration. The CGI constantly shows missiles being fired from the external hardpoints, but never showing the hardpoints being empty afterwards. In addition, the Russians are already flying and building multiple prototypes of another stealthy Sukhoi design, not the design with the swept forward wings. The video is also dated in that it doesn't show the Chinese J-20 or J-21, much less having any scenarios with the Gripen, or J-10. Still, it is interesting. Hopefully, it will be updated soon.

This is a fantastic video, I have watched it 3 or 4 times and still enjoy it. If you are an air combat junkie with a sci-fi streak in you, this is a must see. From F-22 Raptors picking off enemy fighters as they please to the awesome B1R's opening up a can of whup-@#$ from 50 miles away, to a surgical dismantling of an air defense radar system and then finally to how orbital mechanics, not aerodynamics govern "air" combat in space, this is a plausible, entertaining look at how dogfights continue to evolve, albeit with a fair bit of an American slant, because as you will see after watching this video, the US simply wipes the floor (or sky) with anything the enemy throws at them, even the stealthy Russian Sukoy's. That is a minor beef but it does make one feel good to be an American, assuming you're an American watching this. That's about as far as I can go in terms of negatives with the production itself, I especically liked the Tom Clancy cameos and him comparing the F22 to Kim Basinger. As for other negatives, there is no menu nor any sort of interacitve screen whatsoever, you pretty much insert the disc and it plays. It would have been nice to have some extras and maybe some bonus footage. Also the DVD cover is very generic and cheap looking, plus I see no indications of it ever coming out on Blu-Ray which is a huge letdown for those of us with 60+ inch Plasma TV's. But these are all fairly nit-picky and in no way detracts from the entertainment on the screen once you start watching it. An excellent documentary and IMO, one of History Channel's best.

This movie must be re-mastered on a true dvd format. Blue-ray format might be good idea too. Its expensive considering the format of this dvd.

I loved this show. I've had it on my DVR for the longest time. I finally decided I wanted a high quality version and I also wanted to have it permanently in case it accidentally gets deleted. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the DVD. First the packaging wasn't great (but who cares). The DVD doesn't have a menu screen it just goes right into the show. (again I'm being picky but it shows how much effort they put into making this DVD). What really disappointed was that it came up in a postage stamp sized 4:3 letterbox format. Horrible. If you press zoom on the tv the picture comes up very pixelated and I only have a 42 inch screen. If you have anything larger forget about this DVD. This was a great show and I am very disappointed in the quality of this DVD. Don't buy just tivo it. It'll be just as good.
