i found the show informative and current to what i have been learning in college for the past 3 years. It's really interesting because each individual person can make up to 10,ooo gallons of ethanol(moonshine) which needs 15% galonine to make E85. We can also become self sustaining on biodiesel, vegetable gardens for food. These are cheap ways to cut down on fuel costs. You also can have rain barrels to store water. This can't sustain the world, just you.
The film inspired me more than i already am to continue with my career path and hope the World will change. I also like seeing the names of people who share some of the same ideas as I and i am sure others.

This is a speculative documentary based on current scientific modeling and research data. It cannot be any better without the producers being psychics which they are not. The best uses of this show is to make people aware of the risks of continued ignorance and, avoidance of the global warming/climate change issues. From this show and, observation of human social patterns it is possible to extrapolate that even though the timeframe may not be accurate for the show's projected outcome, a closely similar sequence of events may occur at some time in the future. Every empire falls but, we can choose to transform instead.

I REALLY liked watching this documentary. It's ironic that I am current taking an Environmental Science class and that the professor was lecturing about the total human population and what effect that has on the planet. Obviously, this is just a POSSIBLE, but very plausible, future for ALL of humanity. It makes me fearful of the world my children will inherit because of what the majority of the people from the Baby Boomer and Generation X generations are doing to lead the rest of us to what could very well be our demise. Would I recommend this documentary to other people? NO DOUBT!!! In fact, I am going to tell my Environmental Science professor about it and suggest that he show it in class.

This was one of the more riveting docmentaries that I have viewed recently. I have degrees in both Social Psychology and Cultural Anthroology and have long held that human society would have,based on past examples,i.e. Mayan, Roman and numerous others, develop serious structural problems based on some very core human traits. The key ones, in my opinion, are Greed and Ego. We are seeing some major examples of this in the current events in the world. Social orders are developing serious structural problems. Riots in London,throughout the Middle East are not isolated occurances. Sound leadership,and good decisions are the key to our survival and becoming more critical every day. Has nothing to do with Left or Right, as both have their faults. It's all about what ultimately works. This documentary paints a picture of a world that has made some very critical decisions that went seriously bad. In fact, over the previous decade, I have told many of my close friends essentially the same thing. The Human Species is at a crossroads. We will either digress into another Dark Age, or just the opposite. We shall see. Personally, I have a very uneasy feeling, and if you very closely watch the exit doors, you will see a distinct pattern that those in power feel the same way.

i BELIEVE TO TRUTH OF THE BASIS OF THE STORY. PERHAPS OTHER SEE ONLY A FEAR TACTIC. IN THE MID 1990'S A PROFESSOR AT PRINCETON UNIVERSITY PRESENTED THIS SCENARIO AND I HAVE SEEN LITTLE TO DISSUADE HIS ARGUMENT BASED UPON HIS RESEARCH AND THE USE OF MORE COMPUTER POWER THAN WAS JUST AVAILABLE AT THAT UNIVERSITY.

Most people who want the status quo - 2% of the rich who controls 95% of the wealth - think that this program is worthless. Most of us who are poor can easily see our leaders' frailties and can easily see our destiny moving in the direction of destruction. We can fool ourselves by saying things are going to get better but deep down we know that the younger generation is in serious trouble. As murders increase, our sense of morality decreases, and our common sense fades it's a no brainer that human society is falling fast. We should recommend that everyone view this movie b/c the end is so inspirational. The end of the movie explains how the same dollar we spend on destorying the earth - can be spent on revamping the earth - which can spur the economy as well as save the earth from total destruction. I can't see how anyone can think that our future is bright and positive. As I say to myself everyday, God gives us humans the best sales pitch ever which is "I will change you to a spirit being - the highest form of being - and there's a chance that you'll never see death." No human can offer us anything better than that - for no human can give us eternal life.

I am amazed this so called progressive scare tactic ever made it on the History channel. Its look forward into the earths future is only designed to scare people into supporting the UN world view of Cap and Trade. C& P is a scheme desgned to make Al Gore and Many Many others become rich as the world gets poor due to bad legistration. Do your home work before believing any of this stuff. UnReal!

OK, maybe it showed the worst case scenario, but too many people are pooh-poohing the disastrous effects global warming could have on our planet. I really liked this, and I think more people should see it!

This should have NEVER been aired on the History Channel. SCY-FY channel OK. It will probably be used as a propaganda tool to indoctrinate the uneducated masses.
