This unvarnished look at real-life law enforcement follows four Los Angeles officers on the job.
Crime shows take huge liberties with the truth in the name of drama. Reality-based shows tend to sensationalize. But L.A. DETECTIVES is an unvarnished, unflinching look at how real police investigators go about their work.
The program opens with Sergeant Bob Harms of the Special Problems Unit, who works undercover looking for transvestite prostitutes. Harms is passionate about his work and shows his compassion for the unusual people that make up the community. Then join lieutenant Dan Reidder as he stakes out and tails a suspected cocaine dealer. He makes a buy and a freeway chase ends with a spectacular score. Homicide detectives Cheryl Comstock and Rich Lopez are frustrated over the murder of a young Hispanic girl found under a freeway overpass. They follow leads trying first to discover the girl's identity and then to find her murderer. The process the detectives follow is fascinating to behold.
If you want to see what real police work is like, L.A. DETECTIVES shows it all.
