When a Minnesota farmer unearthed a large stone with strange inscriptions on it in 1898, it was ruled a hoax by experts of the day. But new evidence and erosion tests suggest it could be a legitimate find from 1362 and questions if the runes which match symbols in Templar ruins all over Europe are a clue to the location of history's greatest treasure: the Holy Grail. 2009/color/94 min/NR/widescreen.

Comments about this product:
The "expert" who speaks of Robert the Bruce's body being carried to the Holy Land, and his body being captured by the Muslins and the heart returned is just flat wrong. King Robert's body is at Dumfermline Abbey - his heart was carried into battle, then brought back and buried at Melrose. This assertion makes other assertions dubious. I hate that...Interesting nonetheless.

Comments about this product:
This piece of "alternative history" is just an attempt at making easy money off of the success of Dan Brown's novels. In the hands of these frauds and not very gifted amateurs an old windmill in New England becomes a temple with stunning astronomical features (sunshine on an "egg-shaped" stone during winter, impressive), a native american demigod becomes an Scottish earl and of course we get to meet our old friends the freemasons again, now as the descendants of the knights templar and founder of America (Holy Grail - New Jerusalem hokum). America is rich in REAL history, why this need for fabrication?
I found this film an insult to my intelligence and is genuinely concerned when I read the positive reviews it has received here. I feel bad for the people who buy into this kind of wild speculation and fiction at the expense of real knowledge about the history of Europe and North America.

Comments about this product:
I remember seeing the Kensington Stone in the back of a Horizon-Caravel Book in my youth. Even back then, I found it to be a fascinating story. The History Channel makes a compelling case for it's authenticity. Great job of researching the runes and making connections to 14th century Scandinavia. Why scholars would dismiss this stone as a fake? - it has a feel of Galileo presenting his case in front of the Church. It's very difficult for me to believe that a farmer in 1898 created it. Although it's not comfortable for some, it's time to revise the textbooks.

Comments about this product:
I've investigated the claim of age of weathering with a number of geologists and there is no proof of age of weathering on the Kenstington Rune Stone. These are false claims being promoted by a geologist claiming he has absolute proof. And he only has a bachelors degree and is not published in a peer reviewed journal for anything! Shame on the History Channel for not checking these types of claims out with
"legitimate" scientists. Too much wild speculation, not historical facts.

Comments about this product:
It was just perfect and it makes sense more than ever. I am in the U.S. Army working on my history degree and what caught my attention the most was that Christopher Columbus was actually a relative in the Sinclaire family in Scotland which was a huge supporter of the Knights of the Templar! It is perfect connecting of the dots which makes the facts add up you cannot deny. They must have passed the information to him if not a map to the new world... It is all possible... I recommend this to everyone!

Comments about this product:
The recent scientific and forensic-geological data collected from the old [New World] Kensington Rune Stone (with other stones from that period)...And, in particlar, the writing analyses gathered from the individual coded references, symbols + and Runes (X) of the Kensington Rune Stone, matching Rune writings of the time (and kind) found in 14th Century Europe, CANNOT be denied...
...this, and the (still existing) 14th Century Round Structures found in the New World (having the same archeo-architectural similarities, as those found in 14th Century Structures in Europe) are other primary evidence supporting the claim...
...that the Kensington Rune Stone was used as a land marker, was left in place, and made by the newly arrived Templars/Cistercian Monks to claim New World land, to make it a 'New Jerusalem'
...after they sailed away en masse from Europe -via Scotland - to the New World, when they were being persecuted all over Europe for heresy.
These Knights Templar, and Cistercian Monks were driven out of necessity to discover new lands, and brought, along with them, their beliefs and teachings to the New World!
The History Channel is #1 for bringing light to buried stones and hidden truths!

Comments about this product:
We all grew up knowing about the Kensington Runestone, but had been told by "the man" that it was just a hoax.
Not only did this show the truth, it makes you wonder, question, ponder "what else was going on with this stone?" It never made sense why it would be there, but now there seems to be a purpose and an exciting history to it.
I wish this was on more often!!!

Comments about this product:
This show was magnificent. I remember looking forward to seeing it as the title sounded interesting. Once the show started, I got way more than I bargained for. I did not expect it to go in the direction it did, and I was WELL pleased. I was amazed at how much evidence they showed, and all the pieces fit together. It is also interesting to me personally because I always remember my father referring that America was the "New Jerusalem." Turns out this may just be right...
