Millions of Americans struggle with addiction. Most need help to stop. In this powerful and gripping television series, people confront their darkest demons and seek a route to redemption. From compulsive gamblers to shopaholics to drug addicts, INTERVENTION™ profiles people whose dependencies or compulsive behaviors have brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones. Each episode in the series ends with a surprise intervention staged by the family and friends of real people at their breaking point. They'll be offered a second chance. But will they take it?
A high achiever and superior athlete as a young man, Mike graduated from LA Chiropractics School in 1993. He married the love of his life and together they opened a small practice in Modesto, CA. The business flourished, as did their family. But Mike developed a life-threatening dependency on speedballing, which involves mixing cocaine and heroin. At 36-years-old, he's now lost his marriage, his business, and the custody of his children to his $1400-a-week drug habit.
Eighteen-year-old James was a straight-A student, a triple-season sportsman, and the commander of his ROTC drill team. He experimented with speed-methamphetamine in grade school, with little consequence, but in 2003 when a near-fatal illness brought his mother to the brink of death, he turned to methamphetamine as an escape. His mother now hopes to save him through INTERVENTION™.
