John Adams (October 30, 1735 – July 4, 1826) was the second President of the United States (1797-1801), after serving two terms as the first Vice President under George Washington. Adams made important contributions as a politician, but perhaps his most significant contributions to our country were as a Founding Father who helped shape the philosophical basis for the American Revolution.
John Adams was an early leader in the American Revolution, starting with his opposition to the Stamp Act. Eventually, Adams emerged as a leader of the faction of the Continental Congress that advocated independence from Great Brittain. Many years later, the author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, called Adams "the pillar of [the Declaration's] support on the floor of Congress, its ablest advocate and defender against the multifarious assaults it encountered."
To preserve the statue, handle it as you would any art object. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.
