A never-before-seen interview with a woman convicted of murdering her children highlights this examination of a controversial case.
In the early morning hours of June 6, 1996, 911 operators in Rowlett, Texas received a call from 26-year-old Darlie Router. She claimed that an intruder had entered her home and viciously attacked her and her two oldest sons, Devon, 6 and Damon, 5.
AMERICAN JUSTICE® chronicles every development in the controversial case that followed, which ended with Darlie in prison for murdering her children. But her supporters claim that the investigation was flawed and that the police ignored key leads. Adding fuel to this fire is the fact that one of the jurors who voted to convict her has since become an advocate for her cause, publicly stating that some relevant photos were never shown during the trial. MOTHER ON DEATH ROW features an interview with this juror, as well as testimony from Darlie and the attorneys who tried her case, along with footage of the graveyard birthday ceremony for her dead son that swayed public opinion against Darlie at a crucial juncture of the investigation.
Nearly five years after the frantic call to the police, what really happened on that tragic night is still hotly debated, with many people feeling that justice has not been done.
