On a cold October night in 1975, fifteen-year-old Martha Moxley was bludgeoned to death with a golf club in her Greenwich, Connecticut backyard. The evidence pointed to Michael and Tommy Skakel, members of one of the town's most affluent and influential families--and nephews of Ethel and Robert Kennedy. But no arrest was made.

In the late 1990s, detective Mark Fuhrman, a central figure in the O.J. Simpson case, came across a private file that contained potentially explosive revelations about the Moxley murder. Fuhrman pursued his own investigation and uncovered evidence which he believed proved Michael Skakel's involvement in the murder, and in 1998, he published his findings in Murder in Greenwich.
