This based on fact movie stars Poppy Montgomery who was sweet as pie in "Without a Trace" but who plays a very different role in this film, and plays it well. She is Generosa Ammon, a wealthy woman married to a handsome and indulgent husband (David Sutcliffe). She also has two beautiful children and everything else a woman could want, yet she is compulsively determined to be dissatisfied, and unhappy, and to make those around her equally unhappy.When her husband makes the long overdue decision to divorce her, he offers her a settlement that would satisfy the needs of most small nations, but, of course, Mrs. Ammon cannot be satisfied (and thinks he's hiding money from her) and so she decides to kill him. Her helper, lover, and eventual husband, is the contractor (Shawn Christian) a minor criminal, who is selfish and down to earth, but who gets carried away by having more money than he's ever dreamed of. These two hide a video system in one of the husband's houses, and proceed to spy on his every move. This way, too, they know when he's alone, which makes it easier to kill him.Ultimately, the whole situation is sad and unnecessary, leaving two small victims, the couple's children, but it is nevertheless fascinating to watch, especially with Montgomery's very believable performance as a greedy, selfish, and paranoid woman.
