Max Schreck makes this ultimate edition of "Nosferatu" (1922) one of the most terrifying and menacing films ever shown on screen. F.W. Murnau's eerie direction makes it difficult to think of vampires without getting chills down the spine, and his protagonist helps him take horror to a whole new level. The film is an adaptation of Bram Stoker's horrifying book "Dracula," but this German silent managed to surpass the book in fame and places itself at the top of all vampire movies.

Expert Review:
The most gothic of the gothic, F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu" is everything a vampire film should be. The shadowy, grainy texture of this silent film gives it a truly ancient and unnerving quality that transcends generations. It's a film that only gets better as it grows older.
