This is a well done documentary on the topic! It covers the history and much the new evidence and scientific efforts currently being made in this field. Rough Waves were once thought to be fable, and even Sailors and Sea Captains were thought to lie when they reported such waves and had physical damage to point to. Now finally scientists know different. The film also touches upon current concerns and possible precautions for ocean going ships faced with such waves. It is such a good documentary film that I have donated it to numerous U.S. Coast Guard headquarters for educational purposes. I highly recommend this film.

This DVD is packed full of new concepts and information. You will see the power of water as you never have before (a 90 foot wave? A steel ship cracking down the middle?). You will hear the concept of rogue waves explained. You will see the concept applied as far back in time as to when ships were made of wood to explain maritime disasters (famous ones included).
Great photograply and historical data. One gripping scene is when an oil rig in the surging North Sea off Canada (which was builit to withstand incredible force), was ripped from it's moorings by a rogue wave. And this documentary doesn't just talk about rogue waves as a concept -- it proves them with actual footage and actual computer measurement data!
There's a chilling account of a rogue wave that crashed into several passenger cabins on one of the highest decks of a cruise ship and, as one passenger described it, "peeled back" the steel door to her suite.
This DVD is one of the History Channels's best.
