This show takes about a half dozen facts about some of the Founding Fathers and makes speculations about scandalous behavior for which there is no evidence. At one point, one of the commentators makes a statement based soley on conjecture. The narrator begins his next sentence with "Other evidence of.... includes". As if what the commentator said was fact. The entire show is based on the following facts. Take these and think of the best way to scandalize and discredit someone, and that's the show:
1. Ben Franklin was an ambassador to France and a "Ladies Man".
2. Some of the founding fathers belonged to a Freemason lodge.
3. A few of them liked to brew and drink beer.
4. And best of all, the cloth used in the U.S. at that time for everthing from clothes to sails for ships was made from Hemp. So some of them grew hemp to spin into cloth.

Excellent critical thinking tool when analyzing our country's founding history. Viewer must be open-minded, not for the die-hard conservative. Includes religious history and noteworthy facts about the shaping of American beliefs and government.

I saw this on the History Channel last summer (2009). What a joke. The title suggests that this would be a show where we might learn a little about the private lives of the Founding Fathers and some of their imperfections. But this was nothing but a show for Masonic conspiracy theorists to present their lunatic beliefs. Little time was given for any "naysayers." The narrator sounded like a firm believer in these crazy ideas rather than a neutral observer. Here's the web site of Ralph Epperson, one of the main conspiracy theorists in this show: [@]. He's been ranting this nonsense for decades. He makes it sound like the U.S. Constitution is part of a "Satanic, Masonic" plot of world domination. As if the conspiracy theories weren't bad enough, the show said that Solomon's Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. Had they done a little simple research, they would have found that Solomon's Temple was destroyed in 586 B.C.E. (Before Common Era) by the Babylonians. It was the Temple built by King Herod that was destroyed in 70 C.E. (Common Era) by the Romans. Three tenets of any conspiracy theory are: (1) nothing is what it appears to be; (2) nothing happens by accident; and (3) everything's connected. Also, if you question the theory, theorists will probably say you're part of it. The History Channel has usually had a pretty good record of presenting both sides of an issue. But in some shows like the ones on UFOs, Nostradamus and these predictions of "armageddon," and this one, there is no balance. Nonbelievers are given hardly any time. I hope there isn't too much more of this sensationalist trash. In advertising the show last year, the least the History Channel could have done was provide a detailed description. None of the advertisements said that this was about conspiracy theories.

i watched this movie on t.v. and i loved it. i liked how i learned so many new things about historical people that i never knew and found some things out about the dollar bill. i would suggest this movie to any teacher to show kids because of all the facts. but there are very intresting parts like about the freemasons and what there beleif was. enjoy!

Information about the Secret Sessions inside Independence Hall and the "Professor" who materialized are important as this information needs to be released. The "Professor" made plans to release this material that were to materialize after his death. Theft enriched persons other than his family and kept the ideas from being known as planned. This information would bring PEACE where there is currently Religious Conflict! A real Nobel Peace Prize

This particular video of the freemasons is so one sided that it makes the masons look evil. Freemasonry is based on the tenants of the Bible and not alot of shadowy men trying to take over the world. Freemasonry is about making your self better by being a virtious,ethical, moral man.
