"Terror has no shape!" A gelatinous entity from outer space runs amok in "The Blob" (1988), a moody remake of the 1958 camp classic with Steve McQueen. "Entourage"'s Kevin Dillon plays a tough teen who tries to warn the residents of a small town that an amorphous, carnivorous alien is devouring everything in its path. Frank Darabont, director of "The Shawshank Redemption" and executive producer of "The Walking Dead," co-wrote the screenplay for this fast-paced creature feature, which includes memorably icky monster effects.

Expert Review:
As fun as the tongue-in-cheek original was, this 1988 remake yields the maximum amount of potential a plot involving a man-eating gelatin mold can offer. Full of corny, 80's-tastic horror characters, ridiculous gore and some elaborate special effects, it graduates the title monster from "goofy" to "horrifying" in one fell swoop. If you thought you couldn't get sucked down the drain, you were wrong. By Mark Pellegrini of Adventures in Poor Taste
