I found the most up-to-date research has been used in military training, very informative. Gave me insight into my own responses to dealing with people management in the work place. I think all management positioned folks should watch and take notes into how and why employees work and relate with coworkers & bosses. Then use this info to help those who struggle with interpersonal skills; and those who don't play nice with others.(smile) Furthermore, I found the negative reviews quite subjective, seriously judge-mental, & some, perhaps a little "too" religious..ie: sexual content(*).I didn't see any genitals.

(*)meaning based on scripture, as "all" christians should apply, "the Word ALSO says" as in scripture does not contradict other passages)don't like it, then leave it..its that simply folks.

Nov/2011: I came to H2 to find the dvd to get for my son who was just promoted to Lead Staff at his job.He and I, both have abilities similar to the military content, ie: fight or flight, take charge response in crisis & not react in fear.

Fast-paced production values detract from the subject matter. The pro-military bias is downright disturbing. Also, there is frank discussion of how the brain responds to sexual stimulation of one's partner until the partner reaches, well you know; it's a word I cannot use on this forum but that word was just fine on the DVD. The MAIN REASON I am writing this review is to warn others that this DVD is NOT suitable for children, and this is NOT marked on the video anywhere? Not just an oversight--it is downright irresponsible. Hope History's lawyers spot this review.

I used this video in my Intro to Psychology class at a junior college. The illustrations and current life examples helped the students to understand how the brain works.

I was disappointed with the content of this video. I was hoping to see more research on how the brain is affected by diseases such as Alzheimers / Dementia and Parkinson's and methods to overcome these diseases. I would have also enjoyed seeing how the brain functions as one learns / processes information.

Too much time spent on how the brain responds to fear and reprogramming one's brain in preparation for war and killing. Very disappointed!

Informative, yet some experts were off the mark, and some totally wrong. "we've all been having sex on the planes in Africa for millions of years, and that's why the brain can adjust during sex to fend off animals." There is absolutely no evidence that Europeans EVER lived in Africa. Many other comments such as these that were based purely on conjecture.

This program addressed exactly some of the topics I am studying in Cognitive Neuroscience and the animations and illustrations were much easier to understand than my text! The program really helped me understand the basics so that I could better understand even the most complicated topics of my studies. Thanks History!
