"The Door in the Floor" (2004) is a poignant and explosive drama, based on the novel "A Widow for One Year" by John Irving. Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger star as a couple shattered by the loss of their two sons. Bridges, a successful author, hires an assistant, played by Jon Foster, who promptly falls in love with Basinger. A love triangle develops between the three in this tragic story of loss and love. Includes audio commentary with director Tod Williams.

Expert Review:
Adapted from John Irving’s novel “A Widow For One Year” this film came and went all too quickly when it was released back in 2004. It’s a tragic story of an inspiring writer who goes to live with a children’s book author (Jeff Bridges) and his wife (Kim Basinger) who are still recovering from the grief of their teenage sons dying in a car crash. Door in the Floor is a sad yet worthwhile film to check out for the performances by Bridges, and Basinger who brilliantly encapsulate a broken marriage. By Scott Youngbauer of ScreenPicks
