I am soooo disappointed that They did not tell on the description that it is NOT CLOSED CAPTIONED and also that they would even make such a DVD and it NOT BE Closed Captioned. [...]

I have used this DVD many times in my French Revolution course at a US University. The program provides the students with an excellent introduction to the major "players" of the Revolution and the events that forever changed France. Students find the program to be entertaining, and to quote one student, "not boring like other history DVDs." I would attribute this to the excellent narrative provided by the commentators and the visual aspects such as revolutionary cartoons, pamphlets, actors in contemporary garb, and exciting scenes of executions. There are a few statements made by some of the commentators that more advanced historians of the French Revolution may disagree with and argue against. However, for the undergraduate student, this is a fine piece of scholarship.

I watched this film in my AP European History. It was fantastic, the entire class was focused on the film and we were able to have a detailed discussion following the end of the film.

This DVD was a great resource to use in my grade 9 history class. It portrayed all the key elements of the French Revolution with actors acting out all the key events, primary documents from the time, and historian experts explaining the events in further detail. My class was thouroughly engaged. I have lent it to other teachers at my school who equally were impressed by this video.
