Long before "Jurassic Park" (1993), audiences thrilled to the prehistoric wonders in this 1925 adventure. Special effects pioneer Willis O'Brien, who also gave the world "King Kong" (1933), created a remote plateau inhabited by allosaurus, brontosaurus, triceratops and pterodactyls, all waiting to be rediscovered by intrepid explorers Wallace Beery and Lewis Stone. Arthur Hoyt stars as the disbelieving reporter covering the expedition and falling for the beautiful Bessie Love. Includes expert commentary, animation outtakes, choice of modern or traditional music scores, more.

Expert Review:
Harry O. Hoyt's masterpiece, thanks in large part to stop-motion pioneer Willis O'Brien, shattered the boundaries of the era's special effects capabilities. A "popcorn flick" before the world even knew what that was, it's nothing but action scene after action scene, dinosaur after dinosaur, and never lets up. If you prefer dinos to monkeys, you may find this better than "King Kong". By Mark Pellegrini of Adventures in Poor Taste
